Why can the existing hut not simply be repaired?

The hut is in poor physical condition, is too small, contains asbestos-containing walls and has a layout that is no longer fit for purpose. TODO: Confirm committee-approved wording on refurbishment options.

How much will the new hut cost?

The current fundraising target is £200,000.

How much has already been raised?

£40,000 has been secured so far: £25,000 from the parish council and £15,000 from Section 106 funding.

Why must all funding be available before building begins?

The full amount must be secured before construction can begin. TODO: Add committee-approved explanation of contractor, cashflow and risk requirements.

When will construction begin?

Construction can begin once full funding is secured and must begin within three years. TODO: Confirm the exact planning deadline date.

Who owns the land?

The group has a 50-year rent-free lease on the land from the local estate.

Does the project have planning permission?

Yes. Planning permission has been granted and the building designs and plans have been approved.

Who will use the new building?

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and connected local youth groups are expected to benefit. The current approximate membership is 30 Beavers, 30 Cubs, 16 Scouts and 16 Explorers.

Will the building be available to the wider community?

The ambition is for the hut to be available for appropriate parties, meetings and community events when not in use by the group. TODO: Confirm hire policy.

How can businesses help?

Businesses can donate, sponsor part of the building, offer goods or services, run employee fundraising or introduce the group to funders.

Can people donate goods or services?

Yes, offers of practical help are welcome. TODO: Add a committee process for reviewing in-kind support.

How will supporters know how the money is being used?

This site includes progress updates, funding breakdowns and placeholders for regular fundraising reports.

What happens if the project raises more than the target?
